Time for you to get a watch

If you had told me a month ago I’d be moving to New York City I would have said you’re out of your damn mind. I thought this city was just a bigger version of downtown LA – smelled like piss, bums everywhere and just downright ugly.

Instead, I’ve found that this city is a place where people come to make shit happen. Life is on easy mode out here. Sure rent prices are ridiculous, but there’s so much more opportunity out here that it more than makes up for it.

I’ve been here for 8 days and have already made more connections and started more projects than I would have in three months anywhere else.

And I can’t even really take credit for it. A good friend of mine is super-connected in the Jewish community. I’m talking everywhere we go, every event or social gathering, at least 10 people come up to him and say hello. Even on the street people come up to him.

So I’m inadvertently getting introduced to dozens of people in the Jewish community, which in New York is a pretty successful group of people.

That said, one thing that I’ve noticed about these events is that all the guys wear watches. People here are very concerned with their appearance. And they say LA is superficial?

The difference is that in LA we are concerned with our actual bodies, whereas in NY they’re more interested in the packaging.

Anyway, after going to a few of these events in my Walmart-special basketball shorts and $3 Thailand t-shirts, I realized it might be time for a makeover.

Especially since now I’m going to all these fancy cryptocurrency events out here. That’s another story though.
